UNC Basketball: Late Night is back with first-year HC Hubert Davis
The UNC basketball program has released specifics of this season’s ‘Late Night’ festivities, and fans are excited.
The era of Late Night With Roy has ended in Chapel Hill. Enter the new chapter of North Carolina basketball. The annual first official basketball practice/variety show is now referred to as “Late Night with Hubert” or as what UNC Basketball tweeted on Twitter, “Late Night: Tar Heels N’ HD.” HD does not stand for hi-definition, of course.
Here’s a hint.
There will be some familiar faces and some new ones. Enter new head coach Hubert Davis, who is a former UNC basketball player and former assistant coach at North Carolina. Davis replaced, rather was crowned, the new head coach for the Tar Heels after three-time NCAA national champion and Hall-of-Famer Roy Williams retired from coaching earlier this year.
Now, the new faces.
Brian McLaughlin, better known as “B-Daht” and the self-proclaimed unofficial mascot of the Tar Heels, will be the emcee for the event. B-Daht has an impressive resume’. He is a comedian who appeared on Nick Cannon’s Wild N’ Out improv comedy show in seasons 6, 7, 8 and 15. McLaughlin became popular with his humor on the “Santillian and Wild Out Morning Show” on 102 JAMZ, an urban music station that is based out of Greensboro, North Carolina. Currently, McLaughlin heads his own morning show on 102 JAMZ in addition to his career as a stand-up comedian.
No doubt, B-Daht can bring the funnies. If you are unfamiliar with his comedy, then allow him to reintroduce himself during Late Night: Tar Heels N’ HD. B-Daht’s chemistry with head coach Hubert Davis represents a sign of what’s to come on October 15, 2021 in the Dean Dome. Doors will open for the event at 5:30 p.m.
Be prepared to laugh a lot and have a great deal of fun while enjoying basketball from the best college basketball program in the nation. It is always a great day to be a Tar Heel!
