A rising UNC basketball recruiting target stood out at the recent NBPA Top 100 Camp.

Rising class of 2023 prospect and UNC basketball target Gregory “G.G.” Jackson made waves at this week’s NBPA Top 100 Camp in Reunion, Florida.

Rivals recruiting analysts Rob Cassidy and Jamie Shaw were on hand to watch Jackson as he continues to improve his stock heading into his penultimate year of high school. Both were impressed with Jackson’s performance on Thursday, noting his vast and ever-improving skill set.

"“Jackson was the subject of some debate during our last rankings meeting and may well be again in the next one. This time around, however, the discussion will center on how high the No. 20-ranked prospect goes and whether he can potentially add a fifth star. Jackson, who has been a bit inconsistent at times over the past year, has showcased a five-star skill set at NBAPA Top 100 Camp. Jackson has the ability to use his broad frame to score inside, but he also showed he can fill it from deep during the event, knocking down a handful of 3-pointers. He nearly amassed a double-double despite limited minutes in a Wednesday afternoon contest that allowed him to show off his full range of talent.”"

The 6-foot-8-inch, 210-pound Jackson has recently moved into 5-star status in the 247Sports Composite, and a jump in the Rivals150 is likely on the horizon. Said jump would be a warranted one given what Jackson has to offer on the basketball court. An athletic big man with nice size and excellent wing span, Jackson is a good ball-handler, passer and finisher. He’s a terrific rebounder, and capable of defending multiple positions on the court.

Along with North Carolina, Jackson has scholarship offers from Clemson, Duke, Florida, Georgetown, LSU, NC State, South Carolina, Syracuse, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. Still just a junior at Ridge View High School, that list will continue to grow, as Jackson will likely be able to pick from most of college basketball’s top programs by the time his recruitment is over.

Jackson is the No. 24 prospect in the country according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s the third-ranked power forward in the class, and No. 1 in the state of South Carolina. The Rivals150 has him ranked even higher at No. 20 in the 2023 class.
