Hubert Davis and the UNC Basketball program appear to be on a roll in terms of recruiting here in the month of July.

After landing Will Shaver and Seth Trimble in June, Davis started July off with a bang by landing transfer forward Dawson Garcia on Thursday. And it appears as if he could be landing another recruit in the 2022 class in the coming days.

Just hours before Garcia announced he was transferring to UNC, the Tar Heels picked up a crystal ball prediction on 247Sports for five-star forward Jalen Washington. The prediction comes from 247Sports recruiting analyst Travis Branham early on Thursday morning with a confidence score of seven.

This is the first crystal ball prediction in Washington’s recruitment and right now, signs are pointing to the Tar Heels landing the talented center out of Indiana.

Washington is a five-star prospect that is ranked No. 21 nationally, No. 4 center and the No. 1 player in the state of Indiana per the 247Sports recruiting rankings. He has a total of 13 offers in his recruitment with Stanford, Alabama, Indiana and Michigan State among others getting involved.

He has taken two visits this Summer, going to UNC on June 2nd and then to Stanford on June 12th to being his busy schedule. And now it appears as if he could be ready to make a decision soon enough.

If UNC can land Washington, it will certainly help their depth in the frontcourt. Armando Bacot opted to return for his junior year and is likely gone after 2022 and both Garcia and Brady Manek could also be on the outs. The Tar Heels do have the commitment from Will Shaver and adding another big man would be ideal in this class for Davis.
