The UNC Basketball program will soon find out their fate in the recruitment for four-star 2022 point guard Seth Trimble. The Wisconsin native announced that he will make his college decision on Wednesday, ending his recruitment.

Going into Wednesday’s decision, many think it’s a two-team race between North Carolina and Michigan as the recruit is coming off visits to both programs. But who really holds the edge for this talented guard?

When Trimble announced his decision date, things were a little unclear in terms of who was the favorite. However, sitting here on Tuesday afternoon just 24 hours from a decision, it appears as a favorite has emerged.

On Tuesday morning, four crystal ball predictions rolled in for North Carolina in the race for Trimble giving them all five predictions and 100%. CatsPause writer Chris Fisher picked UNC on Sunday with a prediction and on Tuesday, Chad Lykins (The Devils Den), Evan Flood (Badgers 247), Jason Scheer (Wildcat Authority) and 247 national analyst Travis Branham all joined him with their predictions.

While the crystal ball is no guarantee that Trimble will commit to UNC, it’s a REALLY good sign for the Tar Heels’ chances. Those chances may have gone up even more with 2022 guard Dug McDaniel picking the Wolverines over the weekend.

With Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels already landing one recruit fresh off a visit earlier this month in Will Shaver, adding a guard like Trimble would be huge for their 2022 class. There’s also still a LOT of time left and they could add to their class as well.

But first things first, they need to land a commitment from Trimble who is a top 60 recruit in the 2022 class and will fill a need at the point guard position.
