Robert Dillingham (2023)

This might be North Carolina’s most important recruit over the next few years as this five-star point guard is a ‘must get’ for the Tar Heels in the 2023 class.

The five-star combo guard officially received his offer from the Tar Heels on Christmas Eve, landing it when Roy Williams was still the head coach. But even with Williams gone and Hubert Davis taking over, the interest is still high for both sides in this recruitment.

And that’s good news for North Carolina.

While there’s a very long way to go in this 2023 prospect’s recruitment, the Tar Heels are considered the early “strong” favorites to land him if he goes to college. UNC currently holds all crystal ball predictions for Dillingham on 247Sports right now and despite programs like Kansas, Tennessee and Texas getting involved recently, it appears as if UNC is ahead in it.

The thing standing in UNC’s way could be the pro route. Dillingham could be a candidate to go to the G-League or potentially the new Overtime League and that might be the biggest threat to the Tar Heels.

But as it stands right now, UNC appears to be in really good shape to land the talented guard out of Charlotte.
