4-star small forward Justin Taylor discusses his recent visit with the UNC basketball program

6-foot-6, 205-pound Justin Taylor of St. Anne’s-Belfield School is 4-star prospect from the class of 2022 with nearly 20 scholarship offers to his name. Among the schools recruiting Taylor are Butler, Georgetown, Indiana, Marquette, Maryland, NC State, Syracuse, Virginia and Virginia Tech, and those are in addition to North Carolina, a program that appears to be one of the current front-runners for his commitment.

Taylor, the No. 86 recruit in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite and 54th overall in the Rivals150, is fresh off campus visits with the Virginia Tech Hokies, the North Carolina Tar Heels, and most recently, the Syracuse Orange. All three schools are believed to be high on Taylor’s list. The senior wing talked about all three visits — and his trip to Chapel Hill, in particular — in a recent interview with Zagblog’s Adam Zagoria.

"“I had a great time taking the official to UNC and walking around Chapel Hill,” Taylor said. “The town itself around UNC has a great atmosphere. It was great meeting the new coaching staff and hanging with the players. We were even lucky enough to meet with Coach [Roy] Williams and have breakfast with him. Their main message for me is their need for a guy who can shoot the ball and stretch the floor out. They showed me clips of Justin Jackson and Cam Johnson, both big guards who could shoot and score the ball.”"

Along with the aforementioned trio of ACC programs, Virginia and Indiana also appear to be in the mix for a potential commitment from Taylor, who plans to visit the Hoosiers on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, with a possible trip to Charlottesville in the near future.

There are no current Crystal Ball predictions for Taylor’s future whereabouts, while the lone FutureCast projection from Jamie Shaw favors the Tar Heels.
