Top-50 power forward and 2022 UNC basketball target Isaac Traudt is looking forward to visiting Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels.

Hubert Davis and the North Carolina basketball program are looking to earn their first commitment of the 2022 recruiting cycle, and they’d love for that to come in the form of a pledge from top-50 prospect Isaac Traudt.

A 6-foot-9, 205-pound power forward out of Grand Island, Nebraska, Traudt has made a name for himself over the past year-plus, picking up the majority of his 30 scholarship offers during that time. Among the schools on Traudt’s distinguished offer sheet are Creighton, Drake, Iowa, Kansas, Louisville, Michigan State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Virginia and Wisconsin, so to say that the Tar Heels have their work cut out for them would be an understatement.

The good news for the Tar Heels and their first-year head coach is that they appear to be in a pretty good position with Traudt, despite the fact that they’re battling many of the nation’s best basketball programs. The rising big man said as much in a recent interview with Stockrisers’ Jake Weingarten when asked about his upcoming official visit with North Carolina.

"“I’m really looking forward to getting out there and meeting Coach Davis and staff,” Traudt said. “I’ve never been to North Carolina or the east coast really. I’ve heard great things and can’t wait to get out there.”"

Traudt also has June visits scheduled with Creighton, Nebraska, Virginia and Michigan State, so we may know more a lot about his recruitment by the end of the month than we currently do. We also know that he hopes to visit the Oklahoma Sooners in September, and plans to make his college decision at some point during his senior season.

Traudt is the No. 50 prospect in the 247Sports Composite for 2022. He’s the ninth-ranked power forward on the class, and No. 1 in the state of Nebraska.
