UNC basketball alum Danny Green scores 11 points in 76ers loss to Wizards

The Philadelphia 76ers struggled in Game 4 of their first round Eastern Conference matchup with the Washington Wizards on Memorial Day, losing for the first time in the best-of-seven series by a final score of 122-114.

Similar to the rest of the Philadelphia roster on Monday night, 76ers starting shooting guard Danny Green struggled to get good shots off for the majority of the game, and didn’t impact the final score like he’d have liked to. He scored 11 points on a 4-for-10 shooting performance, and 3-for-8 from beyond the three-point line.

Although it was his worst shooting performance of the series, Green wasn’t horrible offensively, and he did manage to affect the game in a number of other ways. He pulled down three rebounds to go along with three blocks, an assist and a steal, while matching the series-high 31 minutes that he logged in Game 1.

The former Tar Heel is averaging 10.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game against the Wizards while shooting better than 57 percent from the floor and 54.5 percent from long-range.

Green and the 76ers will take the court for Game 5 against the Wizards on Wednesday night for a shot at a series-clinching win to advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals. The game will take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia beginning at 7:00 p.m. EST.
