Former UNC basketball sharpshooter Danny Green helped Philadelphia top Washington with a hot-shooting Game 3 performance.

Philadelphia 76ers shooting guard Danny Green had his best overall performance of the 2021 NBA Playoffs on Saturday night in a 132-103 Game 3 victory over the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C.

The former Tar Heel and 12-year NBA veteran scored 15 points on a 5-for-9 shooting performance, all of which came from behind the three-point line. He added four rebounds, two assists and a block in 26 minutes of play.

Green’s solid showing was in addition to double-digit scoring performances from each of his teammates in the starting lineup, led by Joel Embiid’s 36 points and Tobias Harris’s 20. Green’s five made three-pointers were a team-best, and part of an outstanding 17-for-33 shooting performance by the 76ers from long-range. He was one of five 76ers to knock down at least two shots from downtown, while the struggling Wizards managed just eight of their 35 attempts from three.

After 11 points in Game 1 and five points in Game 2, Green is now averaging 10.3 points per game early on in the playoffs. He adds to that 2.7 rebounds and two assists per game, while shooting better than 63 percent from the floor and 60 percent from three-point range.

Green and his Philadelphia running mates will look to put the Wizards away when they take the court again on Monday night. That will set up a second round matchup with either the fourth-seeded Knicks or the fifth-seeded Hawks.
