UNC Basketball: Top Tar Heels target set to visit ACC school
By Zack Pearson
The month of June is going to be a big one for recruits and coaching staffs with official visits returning. The UNC Basketball program is set to host several recruits over the month for visits as they look to land their first commitment in the 2022 class.
One recruit in particular is high on the Tar Heels recruiting board and he would be a big get as an in-state prospect.
Four-star wing De’Ante Green has emerged as one of North Carolina’s top targets for Hubert Davis and he’s set to be on campus from June 11-12th for his visit. In addition to UNC, he’s also scheduled to visit N.C. State (June 4-5), and Tennessee (June 23-25th).
But now he’s adding another school to his list.
Per Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers, Green will also visit Wake Forest in June and is set to be on campus there from June 12th-13th:
Green will wrap up his visit to UNC on the 12th and then head down the road to Winston-Salem to visit the Demon Deacons. That means that three of his four scheduled visits are in the state of North Carolina as Atlantic Coast Conference foes continue to battle in his recruitment.
The recruit could also schedule one more visit and likely will before the month of June is over with as recruits can get back out there to see schools, so it makes sense to.
The 6-foot-9, 215-pound Green is a native of Swannanoa, North Carolina and is ranked No. 110 overall, No. 20 power forward and the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247Sports composite rankings. He has a total of 31 offers but cut his list down to six teams back in February including the Tar Heels, Wolfpack, Volunteers and Demon Deacons.
