UNC Basketball: Tar Heels hold virtual meeting with intriguing 4-star prospect
By Zack Pearson
With a big month of June approaching in terms of recruiting for the UNC Basketball program as well as others, Hubert Davis and his staff decided to check in on one recruit they have their eyes on.
Class of 2022 four-star forward Isaac Traudt has a total of 30 offers in his recruitment including from a couple of big programs. He’s gained a lot of interest in his recruitment over the year and now the Tar Heels appear to be in heavy pursuit of this talented forward.
On Wednesday, Traudt and the Tar Heels conducted a virtual meeting visit just a few weeks before he’s scheduled to be on campus in June per a report:
The 6-foot-9 power forward out of Nebraska is ranked No. 51 overall, No. 9 power forward and the No. 1 player in the state per the 247Sports composite rankings. Traudt is set to take his official visits in June and is lined up to visit Nebraska, Michigan State, North Carolina, Creighton, Oklahoma and Virginia. He’s scheduled to be in Chapel Hill on the weekend of June 27-29.
The recruit has become somewhat of a priority for the Tar Heels in recent weeks and now with another virtual visit, it’s clear that the Tar Heels are in heavy pursuit of the Midwest product.
Traudt would fit a need on the wing for UNC and with a 6-foot-9, 205-pound frame as a shooter, North Carolina’s offense could use a player like him.
In addition to Traudt, UNC is also scheduled to host Justin Taylor and De’Ante Green during the month which is setting up to be a big one for Davis to kickoff Summer and the recruiting cycle.
