Caleb Love will improve his shooting percentages

Coming into his first year in Chapel Hill, freshman guard Caleb Love was a five-star recruit and the top player in UNC’s 2020 class. But Love struggled from the start especially with his shooting at the college level.

In his first year, Love shot 32 percent from the field and just 26.6 percent from the three-point line for the Tar Heels. He wasn’t the scoring guard that many thought he would be in his first year and never really got going.

The good news was that Love did have his flashes including scoring 25 points in a win at Duke while shooting 4-of-5 from the three-point line. He only had 20 or more points twice all season which was disappointing but there were signs he can be a legit scorer at the next level.

This bold prediction is key because Love is going to be the starter at point guard next year and for the Tar Heels to find success, he needs to find his shot. A full offseason in the gym plus pickup games will help his game in the long run.

I expect Love to bounce back and shoot a lot better from the field and three-point line, showing big improvement in his game and potentially making him an NBA prospect after another year in Chapel Hill.
