UNC Basketball: Early bold predictions for 2021-22 season
By Zack Pearson
The 2021-22 UNC basketball season is still months away and a lot can happen between now and tipoff in November. The Summer will return to normal for the program as they will welcome back former players for the annual pickup games that draw a lot of attention.
Last season, the team didn’t get the full offseason experience due to the COVID-19 pandemic as everything was shut down. This is also a very important offseason with Hubert Davis taking over for Roy Williams as head coach of the program following the unexpected retirement back in April.
Davis does have his work cut out for him and this UNC roster will be a little different as they have lost Day’Ron Sharpe, Garrison Brooks and Walker Kessler. The good news is that they will return key players such as Caleb Love, R.J. Davis, Kerwin Walton and hopefully Armando Bacot plus welcome in some transfers and a recruiting class.
But with this new era of North Carolina basketball being ushered in, there will still be expectations for the program. And as the offseason continues on, we wanted to take a look at some early bold predictions for this program.
Let’s get into five bold predictions for the Tar Heels ahead of this 2021-22 season.
