UNC Basketball: Tennessee offers top Tar Heels recruiting target
By Zack Pearson
It’s clear that the UNC Basketball program has five-star guard Robert Dillingham at the top of their recruiting board for the 2023 class.
The in-state product out of Charlotte is one of the top talents in that 2023 class and landing him would be huge for the Tar Heels program. Since Dillingham received his offer from the program on Christmas, UNC has worked hard in his recruitment with most of that being under Roy Williams.
However, when Hubert Davis took over the pursuit didn’t stop and the relationship between the two sides remained. After participating in the KC Classic over the weekend, Dillingham revealed that the Tar Heels were one of the programs he talks to the most in his recruitment, good news for UNC fans.
But the thing to keep noting is that Dillingham is a 2023 prospect and there is a LONG way to go in his recruitment.
As it stands now, Dillingham has a total of nine offers in his recruitment including from Blue Blood programs UNC and Kansas. More recently, Dillingham has picked up a few more offers including Texas on Tuesday and now another one on Wednesday.
Tennessee is the latest to enter the mix for the talented recruit, officially offering him on Wednesday afternoon per Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers:
We don’t know how much this will impact his recruitment right away but more teams entering the race is always something to keep an eye on.
The good news for UNC is that they still hold the crystal ball predictions on 247 Sports, and a big one from recruiting analyst Jerry Meyer. But those were all over the past few months and with recruiting visits allowed this Summer, it will be something to monitor for the Tar Heels.
