UNC Basketball: Reggie Bullock’s big night leads Knicks to victory
Former UNC basketball standout Reggie Bullock posts big numbers in New York Knicks’ latest victory
Another big Reggie Bullock performance helped pace the surging New York Knicks past the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday afternoon.
Bullock, who’s notched double-digits in the scoring column in 15 consecutive games, poured in 24 points on an 8-for-17 shooting performance that included a 5-for-12 mark from three-point range. He also knocked down all four of his attempts at the free throw line to go along with four rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block. Equally as impressive for Bullock on Sunday afternoon was that he committed just one turnover despite playing a game-high 46 minutes in the 106-100 New York victory.
The former Tar Heel is averaging 14.8 points per game in the month of May while shooting better than 38 percent from beyond the arc. He’s also averaging 3.4 rebounds and two assists per contest during that stretch, while logging nearly 34 minutes a night. He’s turned the ball over just four times in 168 minutes of play in five May games.
Thanks, in part, to Bullock’s outstanding play as the team’s starting shooting guard, the Knicks have improved to 38-30 on the season, and are now just six games behind the Atlantic Division’s second-place team, the Brooklyn Nets. They’re also in fourth-place in the Eastern Conference standings, and a near-lock for a spot in the 2021 NBA Playoffs.
Bullock and the Knicks will be back in action on Tuesday night when they take on the Los Angeles Lakers at the Staples Center.
