It’s been one month since Roy Williams shocked everyone and retired as UNC Basketball head coach, leaving a legacy at both Kansas and North Carolina. Despite Williams’ last season ending with a first-round loss in the NCAA Tournament, the head coach has had a legendary career.

Williams has delivered three national championship, five Final Fours, nine ACC regular season titles and three ACC Tournament titles to the Tar Heels since being hired at the program in 2003.

With Williams officially handing the reigns over to Hubert Davis, we decided to go through the best moments of his career with the Tar Heels. It’s been a month now, so we’ve had enough time to reflect on his historic career as one of the winningest coaches and the memorable moments along the way. It was pretty tough to write this but it did bring back memories for the entire Keeping It Heel staff along the way.

So before we get into that, we wanted to make sure we were able to say “Thank You” to Roy for all he’s done for this program and the incredible times we’ve had over the past 18 years.

These moments are in chronological order.
