Former UNC Football standout Dyami Brown is on to the next step in his professional career as he officially found out his next team on Friday night.

While the talented receiver had to wait until the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the wait was worth it and now he will take his talents to Washington. With the 82nd pick overall, the Washington Football team opted to take the UNC receiver, adding to their core with a young player.

Washington took Brown in the third round, maybe a round lower than he should have gone with some having a second-round grade on him. But Brown could be a legit steal for Washington as they pair him with Terry McLaurin, another young and talented receiver.

Brown now joins a Washington team that will enter the year with Taylor Heinicke and veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick in a quarterback battle. It will be interesting to see who Washington goes with in terms of who Brown will start his career with.

The 6-foot-1, 189-pound Brown was a big deep threat for the Tar Heels over the course of his three-year career. He caught 123 passes for 2,306 receiving yard and 21 touchdowns with the Tar Heels. Brown also became the first player in program history to record 1,000-plus receiving yards in back-to-back seasons.

Brown is the third UNC player to hear his name called on Friday night, joining Javonte Williams (Denver) and Chazz Surratt (Minnesota). Both Dazz Newsome and Michael Carter should hear their names called eventually.

Next. Chazz Surratt heads to Minnesota. dark
