With the 2020-21 NBA season hitting the stretch run before the playoffs begin in late May, the focus will slowly start to shift more towards the NBA draft for teams that wont be in the postseason. For the UNC Basketball program, they have two players testing the waters as Day’Ron Sharpe and Armando Bacot both declaring following this past season.

While Bacot is likely testing the waters to receive advice on what he needs to work on, it’s Sharpe that is as of now probably staying in the draft and will only spend one season at UNC.

Sure, there’s a chance Sharpe does return for a sophomore season especially if he doesn’t receive the feedback he’s looking to hear. Before he meets with teams and gets that feedback we decided to check in to see where Sharpe is being predicted to go in mock drafts.

The latest by CBS Sports’ Gary Parrish was released on Friday afternoon as the analyst mocked the first round for the upcoming draft. However, you won’t find Sharpe’s name on that one.

Parrish left Sharpe out of the first round in his mock draft, a potential sign that he is either a fringe first-round pick with work to do or he’s going to be slotted into the second round. In Parrish’s mock, he has just two centers going in Evan Mobley No. 3 overall to Orlando and Alperen Sengun No. 25 overall to Denver.

Sharpe is also left out of the first round on ESPN’s  mock draft last week but he does go No. 22 overall to the New York Knicks in Tankathon’s updated mock draft which was updated on Sunday afternoon.

The mocks for Sharpe have ranged recently, having him in that late first-round range to early second-round range. That doesn’t mean that Sharpe would come back to North Carolina but it is something to monitor moving forward.
