The NCAA has done away with their recruiting restrictions as they will lift the ban officially on June 1st. That means recruits and coaches can communicate in person with visits and it appears as if a UNC Football recruiting target won’t waste any time.

Per his Twitter account, four-star outside linebacker Sebastian Cheeks has set his official visit date to Chapel Hill. The recruit will visit the program on the weekend of June 4-6.

Here is the message he posted on his Twitter account:

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound outside linebacker is an Evanston, Illinois native and has a total of 24 offers in his recruitment so far. That includes one from the Tar Heels and a bunch of schools in the Midwest and Big Ten conference.

Cheeks is ranked as the No. 121 overall player, No. 10 outside linebacker and the No. 4 player in the state of Illinois per the 247 Sports recruiting rankings. As it stands now, Notre Dame just might be the team to beat for the talented outside linebacker as they hold all four crystal ball predictions on 247 Sports. Now, that doesn’t mean he’s guaranteed to land there but the Fighting Irish appear to be in the lead.

After turning in an impressive 2021 recruiting class, UNC has just four verbal commitments in the 2022 recruiting class which ranks No. 24 overall and No. 4 in the ACC. They still have dozens of offers out and it’s very early in the cycle. With the recruiting travel ban coming to an end, it could help a program like UNC get big players on campus for visit weeks in June to try and sway their decision down the road.

This likely wont be the only player visiting that weekend either as more could announce their official visit dates in the coming days.
