Brad Stevens

by Zack Pearson

This is a name that is already making the rounds in terms of the UNC coaching search that is barely a few hours old.

Current Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens has a big resume, leading Butler to back-to-back championship game appearances in 2010 and 2011. Stevens helped build up Butler to a respected program, and then took the next step in his coaching career by taking the Celtics job in 2013.

But is time running out for Stevens in Bean Town?

The Celtics currently sit at No. 8 overall in the Eastern Conference, and they are really struggling this season. It’s tough to tell if Stevens is on the hot seat right now, but if he wants to make the move back to college, what better opportunity than UNC?

This would be the slam dunk hire for the program, and would lead to some shockwaves, especially after not showing interest in the Indiana job just a few weeks back. Stevens would be a big-time hire that would have UNC fans feeling confident again.

But don’t get your hopes up…
