While the UNC Basketball program has been on pins and needles over the past week with the season ending loss last Friday to Wisconsin and then rumors swirling about potential decisions, the future of the program has been in the spotlight.

Despite having two departures, things could have been worse for the Tar Heels. Still, future recruiting classes are key for the Tar Heels to get back to where they need to be and compete for a national championship.

With the 2021 class having two recruits committed and just two targets left on their board, the focus has shifted to the 2022 class. One prospect that the Tar Heels have high on their board is four-star power forward De’Ante Green.

The 6-foot-9-inch, 215-pound Green is a native of Swannanoa, North Carolina and has a total of 31 offers. He’s a recruit that is drawing a lot of attention lately and just picked up another offer on Saturday.

Per Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers, a new team has entered the race as Green has picked up an offer from College of Charleston. Not only did he pick up an offer but Weingarten is reporting that Green has added College of Charleston to his top teams list, marking seven teams now in the running:

In addition to UNC, Green is now focusing on Florida State, N.C. State, Virginia Tech, College of Charleston, Tennessee and Wake Forest.  His recruitment is starting to pick up a bit which could be good or bad news for the Tar Heels.

Lately it appeared as if the Tar Heels were the team trending for Green. They hold all three crystal ball predictions for Green including from experts Jerry Meyer and Eric Bossi, which is great news for the Tar Heels. But there does appear to be a long way to go and this recruitment is starting to get interesting.
