Caleb Love goes off at Duke

It wasn’t the season that former five-star point guard Caleb Love imagined in his first season in Chapel Hill, but he did have a few bright spots. One of those bright spots came in one of UNC’s biggest games of the year, and it was personal for Love.

The Missouri native grew up a Duke fan, believe it or not, and even received an offer and interest from the Blue Devils. However, fellow guard Jeremy Roach committed to Duke first and that essentially blocked out Love. The point guard did end up committing to North Carolina, but he never forgot that moment.

In his first game against the Blue Devils, Love scored a game-high 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting, including going 4-of-5 from the three-point line. What was impressive was the fact that Love struggled from the three-point line going into the game, but he found a way to make an impact from the perimeter.

This was certainly Love’s top performance of the year, and following the game, he posted on Instagram a picture of him and Roach facing off with the caption:

“Everybody savage until they get face to face with one… #BIGDUB”

Talk that talk, Caleb.
