Former UNC Basketball standout Danny Green is finding success again in the NBA with another stop on his journey. After winning the title a few years ago in Toronto, Green joined the Los Angeles Lakers and made another title run last season in the NBA’s bubble.

Now, he’s finding some success with the Philadelphia 76ers and hopes to help lead them to a title here in 2021.

But as the season goes on, Green wanted to give back to his alma-mater with a big donation for the basketball program.

On Tuesday, the University of North Carolina announced that Green had donated $1M to endow a Carolina Men’s Basketball scholarship. That’s pretty damn awesome.

The 33-year-old Green spoke to Adam Lucas of GoHeels.com to reveal why he made the big donation and help support his school.

"“It’s a great way for me to honor something that I’m very passionate about,” Green said in an interview with Adam Lucas for GoHeels.com. “It was an easy decision for me, because if I can help a kid and help the program that means so much to me, why wouldn’t I? Carolina is in my blood and it’s an honor to be part of it.”"

Green played four years at North Carolina and finished his career as the only player in program history to record 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 200 assists, 100 blocks and 100 steals. He won 123 games, four road games at Duke and reached the Final Four twice. He ended his career on the 2009 national championship team. He’s also one of three former Tar Heels to win an NCAA title and an NBA Finals title in his career joining Michael Jordan and James Worthy.
