The UNC Basketball program was able to earn their second Quad 1 win of the season after coming back from 16 down to shock No. 11 Florida State. With that win, UNC added to their resume and increased their chances to make the NCAA Tournament.

But as we head into the final week of the Atlantic Coast Conference regular season, there is still work to be done for the Tar Heels.

UNC is set to take on Syracuse on the road Monday night, a meeting between two teams who still need to add to their resume. After that, UNC then hosts Duke on Saturday night to wrap up the conference play. Winning just one of these games should get the Tar Heels in the tournament but if they want to feel safe, going 2-0 should be the goal.

As we flip the calendar to March, most mock brackets have been updated. Let’s see where the Tar Heels stand:

    • CBS Sports Jerry Palm (3/1): No. 11 seed in Region 1 vs. No. 6 Missouri (TRENDING UP)
    • Bracketville (3/1):  No. 8 seed in Region 3 vs. No. 9 LSU (TRENDING UP)
    • Bracket Matrix (2/28): No. 10 seed in Region 2 vs. No.7 Missouri (TRENDING UP)
    • USA Today (3/1): No. 9 UNC vs. No. 8 San Diego State (TRENDING UP)
    • ESPN Bracketology (2/26): No. 10 seed in Region 2 vs. No. 7 Colorado (TRENDING DOWN)

The win over Florida State did help UNC’s resume, some sites aren’t updated with the latest including ESPN and BracketMatrix. UNC does appear in on all of the updated brackets, which is certainly great news.

Both Duke and Syracuse are not currently in the field of 68, and are considered bubble teams with an outside shot. UNC will certainly get their best from both teams as they hope to claw back into the field.
