The UNC basketball program is keeping a close eye on Brandon White, a 4-star center from the class of 2022 that ranks among the best in the state of North Carolina.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are yet to extend a scholarship offer to Brandon White, but depending on how things go with some of their other top targets in the class of 2022, it could be just a matter of time.

Roy Williams and his coaching staff have already extended offers to eight prospects in the class, and White is among a handful of others that are on the UNC radar. Dereck Lively and Dylan Anderson, a pair of 4-star centers and top-50 prospects in the class, already hold UNC offers. The results of their recruitments could weigh heavily on the Tar Heels’ approach with White, and whether or not they officially join the other 10-plus schools to have already offered him.

White’s list of schools includes Georgia Tech, Maryland, NC State, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech, among others. And with a kind of size that simply cannot be taught — White measures 6-feet-10-inches tall and weighs 240 pounds — and a considerable amount of skill, the offers will continue to come in over the next year.

According to a recent interview with the Fayetteville Observer, White indicated that the Tar Heels remain in contact with him on a pretty regular basis, noting that he frequently speaks with UNC assistant coach Steve Robinson.

Currently a junior at Winston Salem Christian School, White is ranked 117th in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite for 2022. He’s the No. 15 center in the class, and second overall in the state of North Carolina. He’s ranked similarly in the Rivals150 at No. 133 overall, and 17th among players at his position.
