John Paul Jones Arena has been a house of horrors for the UNC Basketball program over the years as we have seen the Tar Heels go into Charlottesville and play some bad basketball, having lost six-straight on the road to the Cavaliers.

As UNC enters Saturday’s matchup unranked against No. 9 Virginia, this year’s test will be no different as it will be a tough one for a Tar Heels’ squad that needs a signature win for their tournament resume. UNC just completed a 1-1 week with a loss at Clemson and a win at Duke before their home game vs. Miami was postponed due to a few players being shown on video partying without a mask.

But if UNC were to get that signature win and end that six-game losing streak on the road to Virginia, they are going to need all hands on deck.

On Friday, just over 30 hours before his team is set to take the court against Virginia, head coach Roy Williams provided a big update on that partying situation that happened over the weekend forcing the Miami postponement.

Williams revealed that UNC will be at full strength against the Cavaliers and that the program will handle the discipline internally:

While only Day’Ron Sharpe and Armando Bacot were shown in the video, the program did reveal in a statement that there were other players involved. Either way, it’s not a good look as to what happened but the Tar Heels are handling it internally and are focusing on the task ahead on Saturday.

Sterling Manley update for the UNC Basketball team?

Some other injury news of note comes in the form of redshirt sophomore Sterling Manley who has been battling a knee injury he suffered two years ago. Manley has yet to appear in a game this season but did make progress last Saturday.

He suited up and went through pregame warmups at Duke was not expected to play despite that development. However, it is good news that he is in warmups as it signals a potential close return to action.
