Two UNC Football players were selected in the latest DraftWire 2021 NFL Draft mock released on Monday

The NFL season is officially over as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. With the end of the season, the league now turns to the offseason which should be another interesting one.

While the new league year doesn’t start for another month, rumors have already been swirling about potential moves and free-agent fits. Along with that, this is usually the time where mock drafts are king as seemingly everyone puts one out.

This offseason, we should see some buzz about a handful of former UNC Football players in terms of their draft status. Both Michael Carter and Chazz Surratt have already impressed at the Senior Bowl and the Tar Heels should be represented well in the 2021 NFL Draft.

But where will the former Tar Heels land?

In The Draft Wire’s latest two-round mock draft released this week, writer Luke Easterling has two former Tar Heels being selected in the second round:

  • Javonte Williams No. 50 to the Miami Dolphins
  • Chazz Surratt No. 62 to the Green Bay Packers.

Both Williams and Surratt were two players who really upped their stock this past season and thats evident in this latest mock draft. Easterling thinks both are talented enough to go Top 75 and land in that second round.

Williams appears to be RB3 behind only Najee Harris of Alabama and Travis Etienne of Clemson after his fantastic junior season. Behind him is his former teammate Michael Carter, who is pushing for that RB4 spot.

As for Surratt, the former quarterback has impressed over the past two seasons, converting over to inside linebacker. Surratt looks natural at the position and should continue to climb his position ranking as there is a long way to go between now and April.
