Head coach Roy Williams and his team dance in the locker room following UNC’s win over Duke on Saturday night in Durham

In what has been a weird year for all of college basketball here in 2020-21, Saturday night was a bright spot and a potential springboard for Roy Williams and his UNC Basketball program.

The Tar Heels entered Saturday’s tilt at Duke as one of the last four teams in the NCAA Tournament according to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi in his latest Bracketology, having to put together some wins here in the final month to ensure their bid. It wasn’t easy and Duke fought back multiple times, giving us a classic UNC-Duke nail-bitter but in the end, the Tar Heels prevailed to move to 12-6 overall and 7-4 in the ACC.

It was a big win for a number of reasons but it also snapped a three-game losing streak to the Blue Devils and gave the Tar Heels the upper hand this season so far.

Following the game, Williams honored his postgame tradition of dancing in the locker room after big games and this one was no different. Watch as Roy and the boys celebrate in Durham following the 91-87 win:

While the win was a big one in Durham, UNC now has a quick turnaround as they have to get ready to host Miami on Monday night. The Hurricanes are a scrappy team that took UNC to the wire earlier in the year and also just beat Duke a week ago.

The Tar Heels really can’t afford a letdown as they need to finish these next eight games strong to make sure they get into the NCAA Tournament. And they will have some chances to pad their resume down the stretch with a few ranked games coming up.
