As the 2021 cycle wraps up here in the coming months, Roy Williams and his staff are looking ahead at UNC Basketball recruiting in terms of the 2022 class. The Tar Heels have two players committed in 2021 and will likely miss out on their final three targets including five-star guard Hunter Sallis.

While D’Marco Dunn and Dontrez Styles are both good players, the 2022 class is going to become a very important one for Williams and his staff.

So far, UNC has put out about six offers and has been turned down once as Skyy Clark picked Kentucky over UNC.  Still, there are some options for the Tar Heels as we detailed in our mock class earlier this week.

But while the Tar Heels have offers out, one prospect that is on their radar has yet to receive an offer and that could change very soon.

Four-star forward Isaac Traudt is one of a few players the Tar Heels have shown interest in over time but has yet to receive that offer from Roy and his staff. Traudt’s recruitment has started to pickup over the past few weeks as he now has a total of 28 offers.

Programs such as Iowa, Virginia, Creighton, Kansas and Louisville among others have offered the Nebraska product so far. But just last week, Traudt hinted that he would love to earn an offer from a pair of Blue Blood rivals in Duke and North Carolina which could stir up his recruitment a bit.

Traudt is ranked No. 53 overall in the 247 Sports recruiting rankings and is certainly on UNC’s radar in terms of interest but with no live evaluation period going on, it’s tougher on the staff in terms of distributing offers to prospects. Once the dead period is lifted and travel is allowed, things should get more interesting

He’s a name we will likely hear more from down the line and it just feels like a matter of time before UNC officially offers.
