UNC Basketball: Tar Heels billboard goes up near Duke’s campus
By Zack Pearson
A UNC Basketball billboard has officially gone up in Durham near Duke’s campus as a reward for winning the best fans vote last year
Back in April FOX Sports and popular podcast Titus & Tate ran a contest to find the best fans in college basketball. The bracket lasted weeks with the winner getting a billboard placed in rival territory in 2021. When it was all said and done, the UNC Basketball program won the contest and will now reap the rewards.
As a result of the Tar Heels coming out on top, they were awarded a billboard in Durham close to Duke’s campus. Well, now that day has finally arrived.
The billboard has officially gone up in Durham right off the interstate and close to Duke’s campus as you see below:

Now, this is pretty damn awesome. Duke fans and UNC fans will get to pass this billboard every single day and there’s nothing better than getting a little dig into your rival fanbase. Fans have also noticed the billboard already and are sharing it on social media:
It also comes just in time for the first meeting between these two rivals set for February 6th and then again on March 6th to close out the regular season.
This season has been trying for both programs as they have struggled out of the gates and at different times both have been unranked in the AP Top 25 poll. But you can throw the records out when these two teams play and that should be the case again this season.
As we are a few weeks from the rivalry adding another chapter, I think it’s safe to say that the Tar Heels scored an early win with this billboard and its placement.
