Mitchell Trubisky wins first ever Nickelodeon’s valuable player award in 21-9 road playoff loss.

The NFL found a unique way to connect with the younger audience Sunday evening with Nickelodeon hosting the Chicago Bears vs New Orleans Saints wildcard game. And by doing so, Mitchell Trubisky won an award.

The super-family broadcast had broken out instructions explaining different rules and how the sport operates overall. This fun action saw slime touchdowns with Nate Burleson, Gabrielle Nevaeh, and Noah Eagle calling the action as Lex Lumpkin did sideline reporting.

Former UNC Football quarterback Mitchell Trubisky won the Nickelodeon fan vote for the NVP despite the tough playoff loss. Trubisky completed 19 on 29 passes for 199 passing yards, and one touchdown.

Trubisky who is in the final year of his contract has been playing solid football as of late giving the Chicago Bears a tough decision on if they should give an extension and if so how much.

Trubisky who thrilled Carolina fans from 2014-2016 has had his up and downs with the Bears since getting drafted there in 2017 as the 2nd overall pick. This season Trubisky got benched for Nick Foles despite starting 2-0, however, got his starting job back finishing the last six games of the season at 3-3 with an overall 6-3 record on the season.  Trubisky help lead the Bears to the playoffs throwing 10 touchdowns to 5 interceptions in the last six games.

The quarterback could have played in his final game for the Bears on Sunday as he is set to hit the free agent market. He did hint that he would like to return to Chicago for another year but that would in the franchise’s hands and who they decide to go with at general manager or head coach.
