UNC Football: Tar Heels add Florida A&M to 2022 schedule
UNC football program adds Florida A&M Rattlers to 2022 regular season schedule
The North Carolina Tar Heels have completed their 2021 regular season schedule, and now await a bowl game invitation that will likely send them to the Capital One Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida. On Wednesday afternoon, however, UNC head coach Mack Brown and his coaching staff were working on filling out the remainder of their 2022 schedule.
They did so with a September 17 game against the Florida A&M Rattlers at Kenan Memorial Stadium. This matchup replaces one that was scheduled with East Tennessee State that has since been pushed back to 2026. The Rattlers currently play in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, but will be moving to the Southwestern Athletic Conference prior to the start of the 2021 season.
Along with Florida A&M, North Carolina’s 2022 non-conference slate now includes road games against Appalachian State and Georgia State, and a meeting with Notre Dame in Chapel Hill. Their ACC schedule that season includes home games against Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech and NC State, and road games at Wake Forest, Virginia, Duke and Miami. The Tar Heels’ non-conference slate in 2021 features a game against the Fighting Irish in South Bend, as well as home games against Wofford, Georgia State and Wake Forest.
No game time for the Tar Heels’ game against the Rattlers has been announced yet.
