College Football Early Signing Period: UNC Football 2021 recruiting class live tracker

We track the Early Signing Period for the UNC Football program and their 2021 recruiting class under head coach Mack Brown

The Early Signing Period is finally here as recruits around the country will sign their national letters of intent to play for a college next season. In prior years, National Signing Day was held in February and was a HUGE day for recruiting. But when college football opened up the early signing period, much of that buzz went away.

Typically, teams know which recruits are signing early and it’s usually most. There are a few surprises here and there including Sam Howell flipping from Florida State to UNC a few years back which made all the buzz. It also worked out well for the Tar Heels, I’d say.

For North Carolina,  this is the second true recruiting class under head coach Mack Brown who is in his second stint with the program. Brown took over for Larry Fedora back in November of 2018 and has the Tar Heels on the doorsteps of an Orange Bowl appearance in just his second season with the team.

After Brown welcomed in a big 2020 class, the 2021 class is even better.

We will be tracking the signings all day long both for UNC and any major surprises for programs across the country. However, we aren’t expecting many surprises over these next three days in terms of the Tar Heels.

9:00 — The first player to commit to UNC’s class, Dontavious Nash, has officially signed his letter.

8:46 — UNC needs to replace two good running backs this year and they welcome in Kamarro Edmonds as part of this class.

8:33 — After originally committing to Alabama, QB Drake Maye flipped to UNC. He made that official today.

8:20 — OLB RaRa Dillworth has signed his letter. His ascent up the rankings continues as well as he’s a legit prospect for this defense.

8:02 — UNC’s highest rated player in the class is signed! Keeshawn Silver is OFFICIALLY a Tar Heel!

7:48 — ATH Caleb Hood has signed his letter of intent. They are starting to roll in.

7:30 — ILB Power Echols is signed.

7:15 — The first letter is in! It’s Trevion Stevenson. He is UNC’s first letter signed this AM

7:00 a.m. — Tony Grimes was originally part of UNC’s 2021 class but graduated earlier and has already played in 2020.
