UNC Football: Tar Heels crack Top 8 for four-star WR
By Zack Pearson
The North Carolina Tar Heels find themselves making the Top 8 for a four-star wide receiver in the 2022 recruiting class over the weekend
Mack Brown and his UNC Football program is coming off their biggest win of the head coaches’ second stint, throttling Miami on the road to move to 8-3 and keep their Orange Bowl chances alive.
Now, UNC will await the results of the College Football Playoff ranking and the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Game to determine whether or not they will be in the Orange Bowl, providing for a bit of a stressful week. But on Sunday, the Tar Heels received some good news in terms of a future recruiting class.
Four-star wide receiver Dakota Twitty made an update to his recruitment on Sunday, trimming his list of 17 offers down to a Top 8 and he included the Tar Heels among his finalists:
Joining UNC on Twitty’s list of his final 8 are Louisville, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, NC State Yale, and Virginia. The Mooresboro, North Carolina native is playing in his junior year at Thomas Jefferson Class Academy and is now moving forward with is recruitment, including the Tar Heels.
Twitty is ranked No. 271 overall, No. 39 wide receiver, and the 10 player in the state of North Carolina per the 247 Sports recruiting rankings. UNC has yet to land a player in their 2022 class as they get set to sign a very good 2021 class here on National Signing Day.
While there is no indication on when Twitty will announce, it’s a good sign the Tar Heels are in his Top 8.
