The UNC Basketball program has officially offered this four-star recruit out of the state of North Carolina on Thursday afternoon

Roy Williams and his staff on the UNC Basketball program have a new target in their sights for the 2022 recruiting class.

While the North Carolina has yet to land a commitment in the 2022 recruiting cycle, they do have four active offers out to recruits. On Thursday, they added another to that list.

Four-star power forward De’Ante Green tweeted out that he’s officially received an offer from Roy Williams and the University of North Carolina on Thursday afternoon. Here is what he posted to Twitter:

Green is a native of Arden, North Carolina and currently plays at Christ School. He’s ranked as the No. 97 overall, No. 17 power forward and No. 1player in the state of North Carolina per the 247 Sports recruiting rankings. With the offer from UNC, he now has a total of 31 offers to his recruitment.

In addition to UNC, Green has offers from Auburn, Kansas, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee and N.C. State among others. But the North Carolina offer may change things in his recruitment as he told Jake Weingarten of StockRiser’s that it was a “dream come true” to land the offer from the Tar Heels.

Williams and his staff are starting to get more involved here with the 2022 class, doing more evaluations despite the in-person aspect of meeting with recruits has been put on hold. The good news is that while they don’t have a commit just yet, they are working hard in shaping up their recruiting boards for future classes. I’d also keep an eye on some 2023 recruits in terms of offers as we detailed one here.
