Former UNC Basketball standout Justin Jackson is on the move again, as he will join his third team in as many years for his career

The opening hours of the 2020 NBA Offseason has been a busy one as the league prepares for the start of the new season in December. Among a flurry of transactions on Friday after the 6 p.m. start was a former UNC Basketball player being part of a trade package.

Former North Carolina standout Justin Jackson is part of a trade deal involving three teams on Friday night with Dallas, Oklahoma City and Detroit striking a deal.

Per ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Trevor Ariza and Justin Jackson are headed to Oklahoma City, James Johnson is heading to Dallas and Delon Wright is heading to Detroit as part of a big three-team deal:

That means Jackson will be on his third different team since entering the league as the No. 15 overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Jackson was selected by the Sacramento Kings in that draft and was then traded to Dallas in a deal that also involved Harrison Barnes just last season. The hope is that Jackson can now find a spot in the Thunder’s rotation as they are in a rebuild.

In three seasons in the NBA, Jackson is averaging  6.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists  while shooting 43 percent from the field.

At UNC, Jackson really elevated his game in his junior season becoming a sharpshooter and helping lead UNC to a National Championship over Gonzaga. His efforts earned him Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year.

Jackson is the latest UNC player that has been traded either before the draft or during free agency so far this season joining Danny Green, Ed Davis and Tony Bradley Jr.
