The UNC Basketball program has their eyes on this four-star forward out of the Midwest and checked in on him Monday afternoon

Roy Williams and the UNC Basketball program have started to turn their attention to the 2022 recruiting class in hopes of landing their first commitment. Despite only having a two-man class in 2021 and a few targets left, the 2022 class appears to be another important one for the Tar Heels.

UNC has a few active offers out for prospects in the 2022 class but have shown interest in a few other players that could earn an offer down the line.

One of those players is four-star power forward Isaac Traudt, a prospect that has been on the rise here in the year 2020, earning some recognition from several programs. On Monday, the Tar Heels checked in with Traudt via a Zoom meeting according to a report:

The Grand Island, Nebraska native is ranked as the No. 49 overall player in the 2022 class, No. 11 power forward and No. 1 player in the state per the 247 Sports rankings. At 6-foot-9 and 205 pounds, Traudt has great size for the forward and can really score the ball from almost anywhere on the court.

The big man is an ideal fit for the Tar Heels and the style of offense that Williams loves to run as the bigs get out on the fast breaks.

So far, Traudt has a total of 25 offers but has yet to receive one from the Tar Heels. An offer from a Blue Blood school like UNC could certainly change his recruitment and it appears to be on the Tar Heels to do so. In addition to UNC,  programs like Duke, Virginia, Kansas, Michigan State, Gonzaga, Illinois, and Auburn have all shown interest but have yet to offer.
