UNC Football: Tar Heels to wear throwbacks vs. Wake Forest
By Zack Pearson
We take a look at the throwback uniforms the UNC Football program will be sporting for their matchup with Wake Forest on Saturday
The UNC Football program will return home on Saturday as they look to build on their big win over Duke a week ago. And when they do hit the field to take on Wake Forest, they will be doing so in style.
The program revealed on Friday that they were going to wear throwback uniforms for their clash with the Demon Deacons, turning the clock back a few decades. Check out the threads the Tar Heels will be sporting:
The uniforms pay homage to the 90’s era of Carolina football, the last time Mack Brown was the head coach of the program prior to last season. The old-school navy is trimmed on the jersey as well as the Carolina blue color to round off the design.
As for the helmets, they are going with a Carolina blue and navy blue trim, giving it that classic look. To also help celebrate the return of these jerseys, the program released this hype video:
This is a big game for Brown’s Tar Heels. After suffering two losses to Florida State and Virginia, the Tar Heels now need to win out and get some help to reach the ACC title game. Saturday’s game will be their last one before their open week and getting to 6-2 would be huge, especially with two conference games left against Notre Dame and Miami.
If the Tar Heels want to get to a big bowl game, they are going to need to take care of business starting with this Wake game ahead of them.
