The UNC Basketball program will reportedly travel to Iowa to take on the Hawkeyes in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge for the 2020-21 season

The 2020-21 college basketball season will be an odd one to say the least as the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing. While we are just about a month away from UNC Basketball, we still don’t have the full schedule of games yet.

The other thing is that UNC still doesn’t even know if fans will be allowed in attendance for the games this season.

However, as we draw closer to the start of the year there is some schedule news coming out for multiple conferences. The latest is with the Big Ten and ACC Challenge, a yearly event that pits the two conferences against each other each year.

For this season, the Tar Heels are set to hit the road and will take on Iowa per Jon Rothstein:

The dates and times for the games have yet to be established but we imagine this one will be a primetime showcase on ESPN either on a Tuesday or Wednesday. It would make more sense for a 9 p.m. EST start since the game will be in the central time zone.

This is the first time UNC will play at Iowa in the event, but they did host them a few years ago in the Dean Dome and were upset by the Hawkeyes. Iowa is an interesting team going into this season as they welcome back All-American Luka Garza, a preseason national player of the year candidate.

He will certainly be a tough test for UNC’s front court that brings back Garrison Brooks and Armando Bacot while welcoming in Day’Ron Sharpe and Walker Kessler.

Next. Garrison Brooks named to CBS All-American Team. dark
