As expected, the UNC Football program has dropped in the latest AP Top 25 poll that was released on Sunday afternoon

Saturday night was a wake up call for the UNC Football program after they came out sluggish in the loss to Florida State in Tallahassee. In their first game as the No. 5 team in the nation, the Tar Heels fell behind early and their rally fell short as they fell to 3-1 on the year.

With the loss, UNC also saw that No. 5 ranking go away.

The Tar Heels fell 9 spots in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, falling all the way to No. 14 on the year. The good news is that UNC is still a Top 15 team and has the chance to move up again this season but really needs to avoid another loss. The bad news is that their Top 5 ranking has only lasted for a week.

Clemson remained atop the poll after a big win over Georgia Tech and Alabama moved up to No. 2 while Notre Dame climbed to No. 3. Rounding out the Top 10 are: Georgia (No. 4), Ohio State (No. 5), Oklahoma State (No. 6), Texas A&M (No. 7), Penn State (No. 8), Cincinnati (No. 9) and Florida (No. 1).

The Tar Heels are one of six teams ranked in the AP Top 25 as Miami moved up to No. 11, Virginia Tech up to No. 19 and NC State at No. 23. The Tar Heels and Wolfpack will meet next week in a Top 25 matchup in Chapel Hill.
