This four-star recruit is hoping to land an offer from the UNC Basketball program as well as another blue blood team

While we are still in the 2021 basketball recruiting cycle, Roy Williams and the UNC Basketball program are starting to do more work in the 2022 class.

On Saturday, the Tar Heels offered a five-star forward in the 2022 class, marking their fifth offer to a recruit in the class. It’s still early in the cycle, more and more offers will be handed out by Williams and his staff as they continue to pursue recruits. But there is one recruit in particular that is hoping to land one from the Blue Blood program.

Four-star combo guard Cason Wallace is quickly emerging as one of the better players at his position in the 2022 class and he has his eyes set on landing more offers. The Texas native currently has 16 offers in his recruitment, including from Arizona, Baylor, Texas, and Oklahoma among others. But he hasn’t landed a Blue Blood offer just yet.

When talking to Jake Weingarten of Stockrisers.com, Wallace says he’s been working hard to earn offers and named two schools in particular:

"Wallace: “Arizona, Kansas, North Carolina, and Kentucky are the most recent school I’ve been hearing from. Still working hard to receive offers from both Kentucky and North Carolina.”Wallace: “Kentucky, Kansas, and North Carolina are the blue blood schools that I speak to right now but I’m confident In myself and my game that I know before this year is over I will have offers from all of the blue blood schools.”"

Wallace is a confident recruit that is aiming high for big offers, which is something you just have to love about him. He’s not afraid to reveal that, either.

It is interesting to note that the Tar Heels have at least talked to Wallace as he’s on their radar despite no offer. But with the travel restrictions in place, it’s very hard to evaluate recruits right now. All UNC can do is hold Zoom calls until at least the end of the year. Wallace also noted that Brad Frederick is taking the lead in his recruitment for UNC.

Next. 5-star ready to decide soon?. dark
