A UNC Basketball freshman continues to earn some national praise as he was listed as a player with a lot of NBA potential

Roy Williams and his UNC Basketball staff will welcome in a Top 2 recruiting class for the 2020 cycle, headlined by a few five-star recruits.

This will be Williams’ best recruiting class in years and for a program that had a disappointing 2019-20 campaign, it’s coming at the right time. The Tar Heels should be better this season as they bring in this six-man class plus welcome back some talented players. But one player in this class is really earning some big praise before he’s even played a game.

Five-star guard Caleb Love is the prized recruit in this UNC class and chose the Tar Heels back in November of 2019. Once UNC received a commitment from Love, it made them feel better about their back court as he’s expected to make an instant impact.

The latest praise for Love comes from the USA Today as they looked ahead at the potential the incoming freshmen for the college basketball season have. They projected which players could be instant stars in the NBA and among the five they included Love.

Here is what the publication had to say about Love’s game:

"Love will give coach Roy Williams a player who can spearhead a bounce-back season after last season’s off year. The point guard will be at the controls of one of Williams’ most loaded freshman classes ever, facilitating and setting the tone."

That is some high praise.

While Love has the potential to be a star in the NBA, UNC fans are ready to see him on the court in college first. He hasn’t made a decision yet (obviously) but Love is talented enough to be a one-and-done player and then head to the NBA as a lottery pick. There’s a lot to love about his game and scouts should be drooling over his talent come this Winter when he hits the court in Chapel Hill.
