The UNC Football program has offered a four-star quarterback recruit in the 2022 recruiting class, becoming the latest big program to offer him

While Mack Brown and his staff with the UNC Football program are focusing on their 2020 season, which continues vs. Boston College, they haven’t forgotten about the recruiting trail.

The Tar Heels have turned in two impressive recruiting classes so far under Brown and their 2021 class is shaping up to be the best in a while for the program. But now Brown and his staff are starting to turn their attention to 2022 and they have a quarterback target in mind.

Four-star quarterback Cade Klubnik is the latest player to receive an offer from North Carolina, announcing via Twitter Friday morning:

Klubnik is an Austin, Texas native that is ranked as the No. 251 overall player, No. 10 Pro-Style QB and No. 35 player in the state of Texas in the 2022 class by 247 Sports.

He has a total of 20 offers in his recruitment with the latest coming from the Tar Heels. Klubnik is slowly climbing the recruiting rankings as he heads into his junior season and could really break out as a good quarterback recruit in this class. There’s a reason why programs like Auburn, Baylor, Arizona, Miami, LSU, Ole Miss and UNC, among others have offered so far.

The quarterback plays at Westlake High School, a program that has churned out some quarterback talent over the years. NFL starters Drew Brees and Nick Foles as well as current Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger all attended Westlake.

It’s early in Klubnik’s recruitment so far but he’s a player to keep an eye on for the Tar Heels 2022 class especially with the 2021 season likely being Howell’s last one at UNC and now much depth behind Drake Maye and Jacolby Criswell. Can Brown and his staff land another QB prospect for their offense?
