The UNC basketball program will find out their fate in the recruitment of four-star shooting guard D’Marco Dunn on Wednesday. What are their chances?

It’s almost decision day for four-star shooting guard D’Marco Dunn as he will make his announcement on Wednesday. He will end his recruitment and more importantly, the UNC Basketball program will know if they are the lucky winners in the sweepstakes.

Dunn is one of the more underrated scorers in the 2021 recruiting class and would fit a big need for North Carolina on the perimeter. The 6-foot-4, 180-pound Dunn is the type of player Roy Williams loves adding to his offense as he can get down the floor and be a spot up shooter.

His ability to score from almost anywhere on the court is intriguing and he just seems like a natural fit for the Tar Heels’ offense.

While the four-star shooting guard’s recruitment comes to an end on Wednesday, it’s been an interesting one as time has gone on. He’s originally from Arizona but moved to North Carolina after his mother was transferred for her job. From there, he caught the attention of the Tar Heels and officially earned his offer a few months back.

Then his recruitment took a big turn.

Dunn started to receive more and more attention, picking up offers from several programs such as Arizona, Texas, Vanderbilt and more. But going into this recruitment it might be a two-team race….

The latest

Dunn is down to UNC, Arizona, Georgia, Clemson, Vanderbilt, Louisville, and Texas but going into this decision everything points to this being a two-team race. Dunn will likely choose between the Tar Heels and Wildcats in this recruitment, two programs that have really caught his attention over the past few months.

The recruit has a connection with the Wildcats, his in-state team as he grew up in the state of Arizona. But since moving to North Carolina, he’s caught the interest of the Tar Heels.

The latest predictions are also favoring the Tar Heels. Rivals’ analyst Eric Bossi wrote on his prediction for Dunn Tuesday and put in a pick for the Tar Heels. He’s not the only one, either.

Looking at the 247 Sports Crystal Ball predictor going into this recruitment, it favors the Tar Heels as they have the highest prediction confidence wise at 8. There are only two predictions for Dunn at the moment with one going to UNC and one going to Vanderbilt but Vandy’s pick is at a 4 confidence.

This doesn’t mean UNC will land Dunn but it’s a good sign going into tomorrow…
