On Monday, the UNC Football program announced they have added another opponent to their 2020 college football schedule

The UNC Football program hasn’t been on the football field for an actual game in two weeks as they beat Syracuse in Week 1.

Their game against Charlotte on September 19th was cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns with the 49ers and then they had a bye week this past week. The Tar Heels are itching to get on the field and improve on their record and will get the chance to do so this Saturday when they take on Boston College.

But before that, UNC has announced they are adding another game to their schedule to make up for the cancellation.

The program will officially host Western Carolina on Friday Friday, Dec. 11. The game will be the final regular season game for the Tar Heels, coming off a date at home vs. Notre Dame on November 27 and at Miami on December 5th.

The Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Game hasn’t been officially set yet with dates of December 12 and December 19th being put out by the conference. However, a few teams are playing the weekend of December 11 and 12th. The conference itself even rescheduled the Virginia Tech and Virginia game for December 12th, possibly signaling a Dec. 19th start for the conference title game.

This could also help with UNC’s overall record and possibly get them a late-season win.

UNC did try to reschedule with opponents for September 19th but couldn’t agree on a deal with limited teams available. Instead, they will have to take on the Catamounts late in the season.
