A top UNC Basketball recruiting target in the 2021 recruiting class will cut down his list sometime soon, providing a big update

As the UNC Basketball program awaits the decision of four-star guard D’Marco Dunn later this week, they are also preparing for an update on another top target in the 2021 class.

Five-star guard Hunter Sallis earned a scholarship offer from North Carolina a few months back and has since been very high on their recruiting board. The Nebraska native is one of the top recruits in the 2021 class and would be a huge addition to the Tar Heels’ backcourt if he were to commit.

But while things have been quiet over the Summer for the recruit, he’s finally providing an update on where he stands with certain teams.

MadeHoops.com recently caught up with Sallis to break down what he’s been doing over the Summer, his senior year of high school ball and his recruitment. Sallis revealed that while he has a Top 12 list right now, he plans on cutting it down to 6 soon:

"Hunter Sallis is a combo guard that attends Millard North High School. He is recognized as a top 10 player nationally. He recently released a top 12 list that included Kentucky, Michigan, Oregon, Gonzaga, North Carolina, Auburn, Iowa State, Creighton, Kansas, Louisville, and UCLA.Sallis said, “ I think I will release a top 6 schools really soon, then probably a decision coming this spring.”"

Looking at Sallis’ recruitment as it stands now, the buzz is that if anyone can pull him out of the Midwest, it could be the Tar Heels. UNC has been considered one of the favorites by some experts along with Kentucky and Kansas, which could lead to a battle of blue bloods. However, don’t count out in-state Creighton and Nebraska either.

The other thing to monitor in this recruitment is Skyy Clark. The five-star guard in 2022 will announce his decision in October but if he reclassifies, it could lead Sallis to go elsewhere. Both UNC and Kentucky will have their eyes on Clark and the potential of him reclassifying, as it could lead Sallis to the other program.

Next. This UNC five-star target wont cut his list anytime soon. dark
