Will Mack Brown and the UNC Football program be able to land a three-star offensive tackle in the 2021 recruiting class? He’s set to make a decision soon

The UNC Football program will soon find out their fate in the recruitment for three-star offensive tackle Diego Pounds.

The Raleigh, North Carolina native has been on North Carolina’s radar for months now in hopes of adding to their 2021 class in terms of the offensive line. Pounds has a total of 37 offers in his recruitment but is now set to make his decision and end his recruitment.

Pounds tweeted out on Monday night that he will announce his decision on Friday, September 25th in the afternoon:

Pounds cut his list down to finalists and will officially pick between North Carolina, Penn State, LSU and Auburn, some tough competition for the Tar Heels. Going into this commitment date, it appears as if Penn State could be the favorites.

Per the 247 Sports Crystal Ball, Penn State has all five of the predictions including one from lead analyst Steve Wiltfong. However, don’t count the Tar Heels out just yet as they have picked up momentum over the Summer.

Pounds is rated as a three-star recruit that is ranked as the No. 445 overall recruit, No. 38 offensive tackle and the No. 25 player in the state of North Carolina per 247 Sports. He would be a big get for UNC’s 2021 class which currently ranks No. 12 overall and No. 3 in the ACC.
