Take a look at which bowl game the UNC Football program is projected to play in according to the latest from ESPN

The first game of the season is complete for the UNC Football program as they have jumped out to a 1-0 start in the Atlantic Coast Conference with a win over Syracuse.

With the win, UNC is off to a solid start as they prep for their second game of the season by hosting Charlotte on Saturday. While it was a game the Tar Heels are favored in, not letting up and having a disappointment game was huge.  It’s also huge to keep their conference championship game hopes alive and any big bowl game potential alive as well.

Following the week of games, ESPN has updated their latest bowl projections for all eligible teams playing this season. Going into the season the Tar Heels were a team that is considered a darkhorse for the College Football Playoff but are also expected to be in a big bowl game. The Orange Bowl and Peach Bowl were two being thrown out there and now ESPN is going with the latter.

Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach rolled out their projections on Sunday for bowl games and both are in agreement with UNC. Both have the Tar Heels in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl but against different opponents.

Bonagura has the Tar Heels taking on UCF, an opponent UNC had on their original schedule for Week 1. Meanwhile, Schlabach has the Tar Heels taking on the defending national champion LSU.

The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl is a New Year’s Six Bowl, which would be HUGE for UNC to play in this season. But their ultimate goal is obviously the CFP.

A lot will change over the next few weeks, especially with the Big Ten likely returning in October for football and potentially the PAC-12 in November. All UNC can do for now is to take care of business and the ACC schedule in front of them.
