Where does the media project the UNC Football program to finish in the 2020 season? The results are out.

Rejoice football fans! The 2020 college football season is officially here as a few games have taken place and there’s a new slate of games this weekend. For the UNC Football program, they will kickoff their 2020 season on Sept. 12 by hosting Syracuse as they kickoff the 11-game schedule.

The Tar Heels enter this 2020 season with a lot of excitement and hype.

Following their 2019 campaign in which they finished 7-6 but won their first bowl game since 2013, the Tar Heels bring back the majority of their starters as well as welcome in a Top 30 recruiting class. Led by the return of quarterback Sam Howell and linebacker Chazz Surratt, the team is expected to take the next step and challenge for one of the two spots in the Atlantic Coast Conference title game.

But where does the media see UNC finishing?

On Friday, the ACC media released their annual predictions for the season as well as all-conference players. They have Clemson winning the conference with 2020 newcomer Notre Dame finishing second and then the Tar Heels third. With the addition of Notre Dame, UNC slots behind them and the Tigers.

UNC doesn’t have Clemson on their schedule this season, a year after they pushed them to the brink in Chapel Hill. But they do have Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Miami, all teams that could contend for one of the top 2 spots in the standings.

UNC’s fate could be decided in their final two games as they host Notre Dame during Thanksgiving weekend and then wrap up the year at Miami.
