The UNC Basketball program met with one of the top remaining targets on their 2022 basketball recruiting board on Tuesday night

While Roy Williams and his UNC Basketball staff continues to focus on building their 2021 recruiting class, they haven’t forgotten about the 2022 class.

After turning in a Top 2 class for 2020, the Tar Heels have the chance to begin building some special for the next few years in the program. But in order to do so and make a run, they are going to land some top talent in 2021 and 2022.

Among the top targets for the Tar Heels in 2022 is five-star combo guard Skyy Clark out of Tennessee. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Clark is one of the top players in that class ranking No. 15 overall, No. 3 at his position and No. 2 in the state of Tennessee per 247 Sports. He landed an offer from the Tar Heels last month and UNC is considered a serious player in his recruitment.

On Tuesday, Williams and UNC checked in on Clark by meeting with him via Zoom.

Coaches and recruits can communicate through Zoom as the NCAA has still imposed a no visit rule. Essentially players and coaches cannot meet during this dead period unless it’s via teleconference.

Clark is arguably UNC’s top target in the 2022 recruiting cycle. With Cole Anthony gone and Caleb Love potentially being a one-and-done, the Tar Heels could use some help at the guard position and Clark would certainly help fill that need.
